The Royal Albert Hall, London

The Royal Albert Hall is part of the national memorial to Prince Albert, Queen Victoria’s deceased consort. Located on Kensington Gore opposite the Albert Memorial, the Hall was built to fulfill Prince Albert’s vision of a “Central Hall” to promote appreciation of the Arts and Sciences.

Now a Grade I Listed building, the Hall has been in continuous use since 1871. A registered charity held in trust for the nation and financially self-sufficient, the Hall hosts concerts, ballet and opera performances, exhibitions, community events, scientific debates, and award ceremonies. The much publicized summer “Proms” concerts are held annually in the Royal Albert Hall.
